Announcer, Alan Girton is a long-time Howard County resident, having grown up south of the airport and in Kokomo.  He's an 18-year agent with Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance and has been married 26 years to Lisa Girton, who runs her own business, The Productive Assistant.  Together, they have one son, Riley, who is a senior at Ball State University studying music education with plans to become a band director.  Alan has been a strong supporter of the Western High School music program, serving as a band volunteer in various capacities including band parent president.      He has acting experience with Kokomo Civic and Clinton County Civic theatre programs, and is a volunteer board member for the Kokomo Howard County Public Library system and Community Howard Regional Health Foundation.  He also volunteers with Samaritan Caregivers.

Alan jokingly attributes his public speaking skills to frequent canings by the headmaster,

but rumor has it that he was a successful member of his speech team in high school.  He has also did extensive ritual work in DeMolay.
